Corinthian Baptist Church

Dayton,Ohio

Project details:  Corinthian Baptist Church's building committee was influenced by the single wide masonry benefits that AAC building material brought to their new facility.  The fact that AAC did not require additional insulation and interior studs per its R-20 rating on the 8" material was perceived to be a significant benefit.  The committee also appreciated the fact that the interior walls of their large all purpose room required no more than an acrylic latex paint to finish the assembly.

Project notes:  This new all purpose facility utilized 8" AAC cladding on a pre-engineered structure.  The design also incorporated AAC block for the glass block cross installed at one end of the building.

Once again the single wide masonry concept of the church not having to add additional insulation coupled with the cost effective interior finishes the church was able to use lead to a very satisfied client for Bruns.

Building Assembly: 8" AAC Horizontal and Vertical Cladding on Pre-Eng. Steel Structure

The glass cross was inlaid into AAC block.

Exterior finish: Acryl M was used to finish the exterior of this multi-purpose area.

The brick veneer was attached to the AAC panels using standard brick ties.  The cap for

brick veneer was field cut AAC which was mortared to the veneer and then finished with

the Acryl M finish.

Interior finish: The exposed AAC panels and block were painted with an acrylic paint.

The bottom 3 AAC panels were covered by the same commercial grade carpet that the

floor was covered with.  This was done to protect participants while playing athletic events

in the room.  The carpet was attached to the AAC using regular carpet adhesive.
